Safety is a core value at Encana and we are continuously striving to improve our safety performance – this includes ensuring the safety of our contractors and service providers. We work closely with our contractors to identify and implement strategies to improve our safety performance.
Our health & safety policy, environment, health and safety (EH&S) management system (Ethos), risk management processes, alcohol and drug practices and Integrity Hotline are just a few of the programs used to share information and expectations in order to keep our worksites safe.
Effectively managing safety on our worksites also requires strong data management. We use online prequalification and safety data management systems to ensure that our contractors meet our expectations. As a general rule, all onsite contractors must maintain a passing grade in the appropriate safety data management system to be eligible for work at our sites.
