Cindy graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Mineral Resource Engineering, specializing in Petroleum. As part of the Deep Panuke project, Cindy was a member of the Drilling and Completions team working to gain practical, hands-on experience throughout the planning and execution phase of the project's drilling and completions program. With that phase of work wrapped up in 2010, Cindy assisted the engineering team with contract review and close out.
Cindy volunteered with the Techsploration program that introduces young women in Nova Scotia to careers in sciences, trades and technology. A video describing Cindy's work offshore at Deep Panuke has been added to Techsploration's Women in Action Web Video Series.
Hailing from Fall River, a community just outside of Halifax, Cindy was excited about the opportunity Encana offered through the Developing Skills Initiative. "The extensive exposure to the offshore oil and gas industry, and the experience and knowledge that I will gain through this project will really enable me to jump-start my career," said Cindy at the time.
Cindy’s career has now taken her to Encana’s offices in Calgary where she is a completions engineer with the Clearwater Business Unit.
