Encana Community Scholarship

Encana is looking for U.S. based grade 12 students who plan to pursue post-secondary education in oil and gas industry-related fields through an approved degree, diploma or certificate program.

Qualifying students must reside in an area where Encana operates and attend an eligible high school (see drop down list on application form). The maximum award is $2,500 per year for up to four years, depending on the program.

Deadline for students to apply is Wednesday April 15, 2015.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to apply for the Encana Community Scholarship:

  • plan to enter an oil and gas industry-related field including the Faculty of Engineering, or departments of Geology or Geophysics as examples or a technical or trades program (relative to the oil and gas industry) at an accredited university or technical institution; eligible technical or trades programs vary but could include: Petroleum Engineering Technology, Heavy Equipment Operator or Surface Land Administration as examples
  • plan to attend a post-secondary institution in North America
  • demonstrate solid academic performance
  • display community involvement or leadership
  • provide proof of acceptance and registration in a qualifying program
  • dependents of Encana employees are eligible to apply for the Encana Community Scholarship

We are currently evaluating the Encana Community Scholarship program in Canada and it will not be offered this year.

We are pleased to continue supporting communities in Canada and the U.S. through Encana's Community Involvement programs. These programs are strategically aligned with Encana’s business to promote environmental stewardship, enhance the skill sets of the next generation of industry leaders and support the needs of communities where we operate.
