Electronic Invoicing

The adoption and use of electronic invoicing is a strategic direction that EnCana took a few years ago. As a result, we are rapidly migrating from the old paper-based invoicing practices to an electronic invoicing solution, OpenInvoice. This system helps expedite invoice processing within EnCana, reducing the internal effort required and accelerating payment.

EnCana has been using OpenInvoice to process invoices electronically with an ever increasing number of suppliers since November 2001. To date, we have processed over $12 billion in electronic invoices. EnCana invoice approvers are currently averaging 17 days to approve these electronic invoices, ensuring that the vast majority of them are paid within the agreed terms.
