Asset Reunification Program

EnCana Corporation ("EnCana") has again retained Toronto-based Georgeson Shareholder Communications Canada Inc. ("Georgeson") to manage a voluntary asset reunification program for 2007, which provides a streamlined process for exchanging your predecessor-company shares and/or dealing with lost predecessor share certificates. There is a cost to shareholders participating in the program offered by Georgeson.

This voluntary program was designed to locate registered holders of Alberta Energy Company Ltd. ("AEC") Common Shares and assist them in exchanging their AEC Common Shares for EnCana Common Shares, as well as assisting holders of earlier predecessor companies, such as Conwest Exploration Company Limited ("Conwest"), to complete an exchange for EnCana Common Shares.  Since the initial program in 2004, Georgeson, in conjunction with CIBC Mellon Trust Company (EnCana's registrar and transfer agent), has been successful in obtaining a participation rate of over 75 percent for AEC/Conwest shareholder accounts.

The 2007 voluntary program begins August 1, 2007 and runs until October 31, 2007, inclusive, unless extended further. Individuals with questions on the program can contact Georgeson directly by:

  • calling toll free in North America at 1-866-800-6030 (or outside North America
    by calling collect at 514-982-2390)
  • emailing inquiries@georgeson.com  or
  • visiting Georgeson's website at www.gsccanada.com

Alternatively, shareholders can contact CIBC Mellon Trust Company directly regarding their process to exchange predecessor company shareholdings (AEC or Conwest) at the contact numbers noted on the Shareholder Information page.
