Encana's Safe 360 program underscores the importance of remaining aware in all directions - whether it's an awareness of hazards around a worksite or a mental awareness of the safety considerations required in a project design. This commitment to safety at home, on the road and in the workplace created a reason to celebrate for the North Rockies team.

As of December 15, 2011, Ensign rig 129 in Wyoming's Jonah field had operated 1,490 days (just over four years) without a recordable incident. This milestone is notable in that the rig has drilled 85 wells and over 1 million feet (approximately 200 miles) of hole without a recordable incident. Furthermore, since 2007, the team has logged 222,000 man hours without a recordable injury.

Ensign rig 129 is a fit-for-purpose automated drilling rig, capable of being quickly moved, and was co-designed by Ensign and Encana specifically for use in Jonah. It has paved the way for other rigs to achieve similar safety results. Several rigs in Jonah and the DJ Basin have operated for three years without a reportable incident.
