EnCana is a leading oil and gas producer in North America, where the company's primary focus is on the development of resource plays. Of our 12 key resource plays in Canada and the United States, nine produce natural gas and three focus on oil.

EnCana's diverse asset base means that we are not dependent on any one project or play. Since the majority of our production is sweet, dry natural gas, it also means we have relatively little operational complexity.

• 100 percent of production and proved reserves located on this continent;
• one of the largest North American land bases of any independent exploration and production company; and
• approximately one third of our Western Canada lands being fee lands (no royalties and only mineral taxes payable).

In addition, we have also acquired considerable international new venture exploration land positions.
