Natural Gas. Clean, affordable and abundant energy to meet growing North American demand.

We are among the largest natural gas companies in North America. Focused on natural gas exploration and the development of resource plays, we have a diversified portfolio of assets and hold a highly competitive land and resource position in a number of North America's most promising shale and tight gas resource plays.

Our prolific gas resource plays include:
  • Coalbed methane (CBM) in central and southern Alberta
  • Bighorn Deep Basin in western Alberta
  • Cutbank Ridge and Greater Sierra in British Columbia
  • Jonah in Wyoming
  • Piceance in Colorado
  • the Barnett shale play in Fort Worth
  • Bossier in east Texas
We have also achieved promising exploration results in a number of North American shale and tight gas plays that have the potential to add significant depth to our already strong portfolio of natural gas assets:
  • Horn River in British Columbia
  • Montney in Alberta and British Columbia
  • Haynesville in Louisiana and Texas

With approximately 15.6 million net acres of land, 12.4 trillion cubic feet equivalent of proved gas reserves and 3.0 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas production, we will continue to be a leader in North American gas production. Over the next five years, we are targeting a compound annual production rate of between nine and 12 percent.
