Gas Marketing

The main focus of EnCana Gas Marketing is to achieve the best possible value for proprietary production by developing and managing a strategic mix of markets and transportation assets. EnCana Gas Marketing principally targets large industrial users, local distribution companies and wholesale customers. Marketing activity is directed from our Calgary and Denver-based offices.

Working directly with the Upstream producing business units, EnCana Gas Marketing provides commercial, operational and analytical marketing expertise in order to help:

  • Ensure there are no restrictions on the flow of gas.
  • Monetize the commodity and optimize the assets, to achieve the highest long-term value for the company.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the market fundamentals in order to manage the risks and opportunities associated with producing gas from a particular region.

EnCana’s Marketing Business Units are responsible for selling the Corporation’s proprietary production of natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids in the wholesale market to commodity purchasers with superior financial credit ratings. EnCana does not provide energy services of any kind to other third party entities or make sales in the retail energy market.
