We view our role as an active community member with responsibilities to the areas where our operations are part of local daily life. We believe this to be simply part of our license to operate. As such, we continually look for community investment opportunities that will truly make a positive, long-lasting difference. And when we see possibilities, we make them happen.

EnCana's vision is Energy for People. That vision is manifested through the encouragement of employees to become involved in their communities. EnCana's employee charitable giving program, EnCana Cares, provides an opportunity for our employees to donate to charitable and non-profit organizations of their choice. When our employees contribute, EnCana celebrates their philanthropic spirit by matching donations that they make — up to C$25,000 per employee each year. Together, employees and the company raised nearly C$4 million in 2005 through EnCana Cares. In addition, our combined efforts raised over C$1.8 million to help with the aftermath of worldwide natural disasters over the same time period.
