Encana recently won two Platinum awards and two honourable mentions from the Hermes Creative Awards

Platinum awards

  • the 2009 Annual Report won in the Publications/Annual Report category
  • A great future for Maggie, which is a campaign targeted to school-age children to learn more about natural gas, won in the Advertising/Point of Purchase category

Honourable mentions

  • one of our employees from the USA Division won in the Employee Communications category for a Jeopardy-style game to encourage teambuilding during a quarterly all-staff meeting.
  • 10% Challenge, which was an internal challenge to reduce capital, operating and general administrative costs by 10 percent below our previously approved budget, won in the Employee Communications category

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of marketing and communication programs and print, visual and audio materials. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) judges and administers the program. The mission of the Hermes Creative Awards is to honour excellence and recognize the creativity, hard work and generosity of marketing and communication professionals. There were over 3,600 entries and about 18 percent of the entries won the Platinum Award, the organization's top honour.
