When it comes to motor vehicle incidents, tracking trends and developing plans and actions to address those trends helps Encana reduce the risks associated with everyday driving.

As part of our robust Driving Safety program, we recently shared a driving safety message with our staff to provide information on these trends, as well as key messages and steps that can be taken to mitigate driving risks.

Some of the key messages address distraction and careless driving, adverse weather and the fact that backing incidents are 100% preventable. It is also important that, during the fall, drivers should be on heightened alert for wildlife and the increased potential for collisions with animals.

This information is not only crucial to Encana worksites, it is equally valuable in our everyday driving, especially now that kids are back in school and the days are getting shorter. As well, winter driving conditions are fast approaching in some of our operating areas.

Driving Safety is part of our Safe 360 safety initiative which speaks to our ongoing work to achieve an injury-free workplace at Encana.

By sharing this driving safety message with our staff, we aim to raise awareness and encourage a Driving Safety culture while at work and at home.
